Following the March 2 Republican Caucus, Jefferson County Republican voter wishes have aligned with the party on the national scale, electing Former U.S. President Donald Trump as the party's candidate for the 2024 Presidential Election.Â
Just under 500 Jefferson County Republicans cast their vote at the Caucus, with Trump winning an overwhelming majority over fellow candidates Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivik Ramaswamy, Chris Christie and Ryan L. Binkley.Â
Trump, who received a total of 386 votes, was followed in popularity by Nikki Haley, who received only 99 total votes. Haley was followed by DeSantis at nine votes, and then Ramaswamy at three total votes. No votes in Jefferson County were cast for Christie or Binkley.Â
According to Caucus results shared by Kaye Field, the Chairwoman for the Jefferson County Republican Central Committee, 199 people voted at the Rigby High School Caucus Location for Rigby Precincts, 205 people voted at the Rigby Middle School location for neighboring precincts, and 93 people voted at the Terreton ALC for the Mud Lake area precincts.Â
