Clark County has busy holiday schedule

DUBOIS—The Dubois City meeting is tonight at 7 p.m. at the Dubois City meeting room in the City Annex Building.

The Flu Clinic will be available on Wednesday, at the Eastern Idaho Public Health at 9 a.m.

There are three home basketball games this coming week in Dubois, including: a Dec. 7 girl’s game with North Fremont at 6 p.m., and Dec. 9 versus Lima at 6 p.m. followed by the boy’s game at 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 10 the games are at Mackay; Dec. 13 playing ShoBan at home the boy’s play at 4:30 p.m.

Clark County High School girls basketball team played North Gem this past week. It was a good close game, but Clark pulled ahead in last quarter with a win 32 to 25. Their new coach, Cierra Radin, kept a close eye on her team the entire game.

The Dubois Lions Club will be meeting at the Dubois Lions Hall Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. for their Club Christmas Dinner and party.

The Ladies of the Dubois Community Baptist Church have been busy assembling shoe boxes for the holidays, which they took to Idaho Falls to donate to the world-wide program operated by Franklin Graham Samaritan Purse.

Upcoming community holiday programs and community gatherings include: Dec. 8 – 6 p.m. Dubois Lions Club annual Christmas dinner and party at the Lions Hall; Dec. 12 – 7 p.m., Clark County schools Christmas concert at the high school gymnasium; Dec. 14 – noon the Clark County seniors citizens are invited to the Dubois Community Center for a Christmas Holiday Luncheon to be served by Laurie Small and Sharon Vadnais; Dec. 14 – 7 p.m. Lindy Ross Elementary School Christmas Play at the high school gymnasium; Dec. 16 – evening U. S. Sheep Station Employees Christmas Dinner and party at the Dubois Lions Hall; Dec. 17 – mid-morning, Dubois Community Baptist Ladies will be assembling Cheer Baskets, donations need to be at church early morning; Dec. 19 – 6 p.m., Beaver Creek LDS Ward Family Dinner and party at the Church. Beaver Creek Ward Ladies will be assembling Cheer Baskets in the morning.

The Dubois Christmas Tree Lighting Party at the Truck Turn-a-round on Main Street, as sponsored by the Dubois City Council, was Nov. 30, at 6 p.m. To the kids’ delight, Santa finally arrived in the Dubois Fire Truck. The snowy evening was enjoyed around the fire with hot chocolate and cookies, and singing Christmas carols.

A Dubois Community Christmas Bazaar was held at the Dubois Community Center as headed by Lori Clark. All proceeds were earmarked for the Clark County 4-H program.

Dubois resident, Marge Bare Garvin, passed away Friday evening in Idaho Falls. Funeral services are planned for Marge at the Dubois Community Baptist Church Dec. 10, at 11:30 a.m.

John and Linda Toler hosted their Toler family Thanksgiving dinner at their home in Dubois. Dinner guests were Bill and Andrea Toler and daughter, of Pocatello, Buck and Sarah Toler and three sons of McCammon and Lance and Mary Barg, of Boise.

Ellen Laird returned to her home in Dubois after spending a week in Boise with her daughter, Pam Hawks and family.

Allene Frederiksen and Edith Bowen returned home last Tuesday from Spokane, Wash., where they spent the Thanksgiving Holiday with Edith’s son and family, Todd and Lori Bowen.

Randy and Jill Grover hosted a family Thanksgiving dinner at their home in Dubois, which was attended by all of their family.

Ted and Samie Laird and children, Tree and Morgan drove to California to enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday with Samie’s parents.

Allan Laird, of Dallas, Texas, was home this past week to visit with his parents, Bruce and Marilyn Laird and to help celebrate his dad’s birthday. The family all traveled to Idaho Falls on Bruce’s Birthday, Dec. 1, for dinner together.
